INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1993
AN ACT TO AMEND THE
INTERPRETATION ACT, 1937
. [22nd December, 1993]
BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:
Feminine and masculine.
1.—In every Act of the Oireachtas passed on or after the date of the passing of this Act and in every instrument made wholly or partly under any such Act every word importing the feminine gender shall, unless the contrary intention appears, be construed as if it also imported the masculine gender.
Short title, construction and collective citation.
2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Interpretation (Amendment) Act, 1993.
(2) The
Interpretation Act, 1937
, and this Act shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Interpretation Acts, 1937 and 1993.
