Amendment of section 7 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964. 2. Transitional provisions. 3. Short title and construction. Act Referred to Registration of Title Act, 1964 1964, No. 16 Number 35 of 1997 REGISTRATION OF TITLE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1997 AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7 OF THE REGISTRATION OF TITLE ACT, 1964 , AND TO PROVIDE FOR CONNECTED MATTERS. [16th July, 1997] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Amendment of section 7 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 . 1.— Section 7 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 , is hereby amended— (a) by the substitution of the following section for subsection (1): “(1) There shall be— (a) an office (in this Act referred to as ‘the central office’) consisting of one or more than one constituent offices situated in the county borough of Dublin and in such other area or areas (if any) as the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform may designate by order under subsection (5), and (b) an office (in this Act referred to as a ‘local office’) in each county other than— (i) the county borough of Dublin, the administrative county of South Dublin, the administrative county of Fingal and the administrative county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, and (ii) a county where there is a constituent office of the central office.”, and (b) by the addition of the following subsection after subsection (4): “(5) (a) The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform may, from time to time, designate by order any county (including an administrative county referred to in subsection (1)(b) (i)) as an area within which one or more than one constituent office of the central office shall be located. (b) An order under paragraph (a) may be amended or revoked by order of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform.”. Transitional provisions. 2.—Without prejudice to the future location in the county borough of Dublin of any constituent office of the central office, the central office in that borough immediately before the passing of this Act shall, upon such passing, become a constituent office or constituent offices, as the case may be, of the central office in that borough. Short title and construction. 3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Registration of Title (Amendment) Act, 1997. (2) The Registration of Title Act, 1964 , and this Act shall be construed together as one.
