REGULATIONS DATED 21ST AUGUST, 1924, MADE BY THE IRISH INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS, WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MINISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH, FURTHER AMENDING THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (INSURANCE COMMITTEES) CONSOLIDATED REGULATIONS (IRELAND), 1916. The Irish Insurance Commissioners, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section
(4)of section 59, read with sub-section
(8)of Section 81, of the National Insurance Act, 1911, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, do hereby, with the concurrence of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, make the following Regulations :—
- These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Insurance (Insurance Committees) Amendment Regulations, 1924,* and shall be read as one with the National Health Insurance (Insurance Committees) (Consolidated Regulations (Ireland), 1916 (hereinafter referred to as " the Principal Regulations ").
- Notwithstanding anything contained in the Principal Regulations or in Article 2 of the National Health Insurance (Insurance Committees) Amendment Regulations (No. 2), 1923, the present members of the Committee, other than members appointed by the Council of the County or County Borough, shall hold office until the 29th day of July, 1924, on which date they shall go out of office.
- The term of office of persons appointed or elected as members of the Committee in pursuance of an election held in the year 1924 in accordance with the provisions of Part III of the Principal Regulations, and of persons appointed in that year as members of the Committee (other than persons already appointed to fill casual vacancies) in pursuance of section 81
(8)(c) of the National Insurance Act, 1911, shall (subject to the provisions of any Regulations which the Commissioners may hereafter make determining or further extending the term of office of any member or members or of any class or classes of members of the Committee) commence on the 30th day of July,
- * These Regulations supersede the Provisional Regulations entitled the National Health Insurance (Insurance Committees) Amendment Regulations, 1924, which were made, and came into force, on the 28th June,
- Article 28 of the Principal Regulations, as amended by the National Health Insurance (Insurance Committees) Amendment Regulations (Ireland), 1920, as to the election of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of Insurance Committees, shall be read and have effect as if the date mentioned therein were, as regards the year 1924, the 29th day of July, instead of the 30th day of June.
