TABACCO (GROWERS' ARRANGEMENTS) REGULATIONS, 1934. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(1)of Section 32 of the Tobacco Act, 1934 (No. 37 of 1934), that every holder of a grower's licence authorising the growing of tobacco in the year 1934 or any subsequent year shall send to the Minister for Agriculture, in case such licence relates to the year 1934, before the 30th day of September, 1934, or, in case such licence relates to any subsequent year, before the 30th day of June in such year, a return in the form prescribed by the Minister for Agriculture specifying the several matters mentioned in the said sub-section : AND WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(1)of Section 9 of the Tobacco Act, 1934 , that the Minister for Agriculture may by order make regulations in relation to any matter or thing referred to in the said Act as prescribed by the Minister for Agriculture : NOW, THEREFORE, I, SEAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Tobacco Act, 1934 (No. 37 of 1934), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order and make the following Regulations that is to say :—
- These Regulations may be cited for all purposes as the Tobacco (Growers' Arrangements) Regulations,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies in the interpretation of these Regulations in like manner as it applies to an Act of the Oireachtas.
- The return to be made by holders of growers' licences pursuant to sub-section
(1)of Section 32 of the Tobacco Act, 1934 (No. 37 of 1934), shall be in the Form set out in the Schedule hereto. Given under my Seal of Office, this 4th day of October, 1934. SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture. TOBACCO ACT, 1934 . RETURN PURSUANT TO SECTION 32

- Did you grow an ample supply of early seedlings or did you have to buy plants ?

- State whether prospects of crop are good, medium or poor.
- Will you harvest the entire plants, or the leaves separately ?
- Do you propose to cure your own tobacco ? If not, state name and address or curer.
- State briefly the nature and extent of your curing barn.
- What method of heating will be adopted?
- What kind of fuel will be used ?
- Name of rehandler to whom you will sell tobacco.
- Estimated quantity of cured tobacco which you are likely to produce.
