AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1934. No. 376. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 7, FIRST PERIOD, ADDITIONAL QUOTA) ORDER, 1934. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(4)of section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that whenever the Executive Council has, by order made under that section, appointed a quota in respect of any quota period, the Executive Council may, if they so think fit, by order made before the expiration of such quota period increase such quota by such amount (in that Act referred to as an additional quota) as they think proper : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 7, First Period) Order, 1934, made under the said section 6, the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 19th day of November, 1934, and ending on the 31st day of January, 1935, to be the first quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 7) Order, 1934, and appointed one hundred and twenty-eight thousand square yards of the articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 7) Order, 1934, applies to be the quota in respect of the said first quota period : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the power conferred on them by sub-section
(4)of section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—
- This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 7, First Period, Additional Quota) Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of the Act of the Oireachtas.
- The quota appointed by the Control of Imports (Quota No 7, First Period) Order, 1934, in respect of the first quota period appointed by that Order is hereby increased by two hundred and thirty thousand square yards of the articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota. No. 7) Order, 1934, applies, to the intent that the said two hundred and thirty thousand square yards shall be an additional quota in respect of the said first quota period and the total quota in respect of the said first quota period shall be three hundred and fifty-eight thousand square yards of the articles to which the said last-mentioned Order applies.
