AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 161. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 11, FIRST PERIOD, ADDITIONAL QUOTA) ORDER, 1935. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection

(4)of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that whenever the Executive Council has, by order made under that section, appointed a quota in respect of any quota period, the Executive Council may, if they so think fit, by order made before the expiration of such quota period increase such quota by such amount (in that Act referred to as an additional quota) as they think proper : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 11, First Period) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 11 of 1935), made under the said Section 6, the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of February, 1935, and ending on the 31st day of July, 1935, to be the first quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 11) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 379 of 1934), and appointed one million, one hundred thousand tons of coal, culm, shale or slack to be the quota in respect of the said first quota period, and directed, under the powers conferred on them by subsection
(3)of the said Section 6, that of the said quota in respect of the said first quota period one million and ninety-nine thousand tons should consist of coal, culm, shale or slack which is shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been produced in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and consigned to the importer from that country : AND WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 , that the Executive Council may at any time by order amend or revoke any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act, including an order made under the said Section 11 amending a previous order : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Act, 1934 , and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 11, First Period, Additional Quota) Order,
  2. The Interpretation Act 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
  3. The quota appointed by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 11, First Period) Order, 1935, in respect of the first quota period appointed by that Order is hereby increased by one hundred and ten thousand tons of coal, culm, shale or slack, to the intent that the said one hundred and ten thousand tons of coal, culm, shale or slack shall be an additional quota in respect of the said first quota period and the total quota in respect of the said first quota period shall be one million, two hundred and ten thousand tons of coal, culm, shale or slack.
  4. Paragraph 5 of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 11, First Period) Order, 1935, is hereby amended by the deletion of the words " one million and ninety-nine thousand tons " now contained therein, and the substitution for the words so deleted, of the words " one million, two hundred and eight thousand, nine hundred tons, " to the intent that of the said total quota of one million, two hundred and ten thousand tons of coal, culm, shale or slack, one million, two hundred and eight thousand, nine hundred tons shall consist of coal, culm, shale or slack which is shown to the satisfaction of the Revenue Commissioners to have been produced in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and consigned to the importer from that country.
