AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 174. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 4, THIRD PERIOD) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1935. WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that the Executive Council may at any time by order amend or revoke any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act, including an order made under the said Section 11 amending a previous order : AND WHEREAS the Executive Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section

(2)of Section 6 of the said Act made the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4, Third Period) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 140 of 1935), and thereby appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of July, 1935, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1935, to be the third quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934 (which relates to rubber boots and shoes) and appointed a total amounting to one million, one hundred and ninety-three thousand articles to which the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934, applies to be the quota in respect of the said third quota period : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4, Third Period) (Amendment) Order,
  3. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
  4. Paragraph 3 of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4, Third Period) Order, 1935, is hereby amended by the deletion of the figures and words " 31st day of December, 1935 " now contained therein, and the substitution for the figures and words so deleted, of the figures and words " 30th day of September, 1935, " to the intent that the third quota period under the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934, shall end on the said 30th day of September,

Paragraph 4 of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4, Third Period) Order, 1935, is hereby amended by the deletion of the words " one million, one hundred and ninety-three thousand articles " now contained therein, and the substitution for the words so deleted, of the words " two hundred and fifty-six thousand articles, " to the intent that two hundred and fifty-six thousand articles to which the Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934, applies shall be the quota in respect of the said third quota period as shortened by this Order.
