AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 181. SLAUGHTER OF SHEEP AND LAMBS (RATES OF LEVY) REGULATIONS, 1935. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section

(1)of Section 4 of the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Act, 1934 (No. 42 of 1934), that the Minister for Agriculture may by order make regulations prescribing any matter or thing which is referred to in the said Act as prescribed or to be prescribed, but that no such regulation shall be made in relation to the amount or collection of fees or levies without the consent of the Minister for Finance : AND WHEREAS the matters or things prescribed by these Regulations are referred to in the said Act as prescribed or to be prescribed : NOW, I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Act, 1934 (No. 42 of 1934), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order and make the following regulations, that is to say :— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Slaughter of Sheep and Lambs (Rates of Levy) Regulations, 1935. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of these Regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. 3. The rate of levy prescribed by sub-paragraph (
  1. c)of paragraph 8 of the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep (Registration and Levy) Regulations, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 324 of 1934), shall not apply to or have effect in respect of sheep slaughtered during the months of July and August, 1935, and in lieu thereof the rates of levy on sheep and lambs slaughtered in registered slaughtering premises for human consumption in Saorstát Eireann during those months shall be as follows, that is to say :— (
  2. a)on all sheep at the rate of five shillings per animal, and (
  3. b)on all lambs at the rate of three shillings per animal. Given under my Seal of Office, this 28th day of June, 1935. (Signed) SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture.
