AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1935. No. 649. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 1, SIXTH PERIOD) ORDER, 1935. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(2)of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that so long as any particular quota order is in force, the Executive Council shall, during and not less than one month before the end of every quota period under such quota order by order— (
- a)appoint a period (beginning at the expiration of the said quota period) to be the next quota period under such quota order, and (
- b)appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purposes of the said Act in respect of the said next quota period : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1, Fifth Period) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 320 of 1935), the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of October, 1935, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1935, to be the fifth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1 ) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 230 of 1934), which (as amended by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 160 of 1935)) relates to pneumatic tyres of one or more of the descriptions specified in the Schedule to the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) Order, 1934 : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) (Amendment) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 34 of 1935), the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 230 of 1934) was amended by restricting the meaning of the expression " pneumatic tyre " in the last-mentioned Order to outer covers only : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section
(2)of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—
- This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1, Sixth Period) Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
- The period beginning on the 1st day of January, 1936, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1936, is hereby appointed to be the sixth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) Order, 1934 (which (as amended) relates to pneumatic tyres of one or more of the descriptions specified in the Schedule to the said Order).
- A total amounting to one thousand two hundred pneumatic tyres (being pneumatic tyres of one or more of the descriptions now specified in the Schedule to the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 1) Order, 1934) shall be the quota in respect of the said sixth quota period.
