AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1936. No. 172. CONSTITUTION (DECLARATION OF UNLAWFUL ASSOCIATION) ORDER, 1936. WHEREAS it is provided by sub-section
(2)of Section 19 of Article 2A of the Constitution that an order made by the Executive Council declaring that a specified association is, in the opinion of the Executive Council, an unlawful association shall be conclusive evidence for all purposes that such association is an unlawful association : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section
(2)of Section 19 of Article 2A of the Constitution and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby declare and order as follows :—
- The association styling itself the Irish Republican Army (also the I.R.A. and Oglaigh na hEireann) is, in the opinion of the Executive Council, an unlawful association.
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
- This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Constitution (Declaration of Unlawful Association) Order,
