GAME BIRDS PROTECTION (No. 1) ORDER, 1936. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(1)of Section 6 of the Game Preservation Act, 1930 (No. 11 of 1930), that whenever the Minister for Justice is satisfied that any particular species of game bird is in special need of protection in the whole or any particular portion of Saorstát Eireann, he may by order prohibit for any specified period, not exceeding one year from the date of the Order, the killing or taking of that particular species of game bird in Saorstát Eireann or in any particular portion of Saorstát Eireann specified in the Order: AND WHEREAS the Minister for Justice is satisfied that the species of game birds mentioned in the second column of the Schedule to this Order are in special need of protection: NOW, I, Gerald Boland, Acting Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section
(1)of Section 6 of the Game Preservation Act, 1930 (No. 11 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby order as follows:—
- This Order may be cited as the Game Birds Protection (No. 1) Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
- The killing or taking of the species of game birds mentioned in the second column of the Schedule to this Order is prohibited for the period mentioned in the third column of the said Schedule, within the area mentioned in the fourth column of the said Schedule opposite the mention in the said second column of such game birds. SCHEDULE. Ref. Species protected. Period of Protection Area of protection. 1 Pheasant. From the 1st day of October, 1936 to the 31st day of January, 1937, both days inclusive. County of Cork 2 Partridge From the 1st day of October, 1936, to the 31st day of January, 1937, both days inclusive. County of Cork 3 Pheasant From the 1st day of October, 1936, to the 14th day of October, 1936, both days inclusive. The whole of Saorstát Eireann except the County of Cork 4 Partridge From the 1st day of October, 1936, to the 14th day of October, 1936, both days inclusive, and from the 16th day of November, 1936, to the 31st day of January, 1937, both days inclusive. The whole of Saorstát Eireann except the County of Cork. 5 Grouse From the 12th day of September, 1936, to the 9th day of December, 1936, both days inclusive.
