AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1937. No. 210. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 2, EIGHTH PERIOD) ORDER, 1937. WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(2)of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), that so long as any particular quota order is in force, the Executive Council shall, during and not less than one month before the end of every quota period under such quota order, by order :— (
- a)appoint a period (beginning at the expiration of the said quota period) to be the next quota period under such quota order, and (
- b)appoint a specified quantity of goods to which such quota order applies to be the quota for the purposes of the said Act in respect of the said next quota period : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2, Seventh Period) Order, 1936 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 233 of 1936), the Executive Council appointed the period beginning on the 1st day of October, 1936, and ending on the 30th day of September, 1937, to be the seventh quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) Order, 1934 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 231 of 1934), which (as amended by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1937) relates to certain pneumatic tyres : AND WHEREAS by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) (Amendment) Order, 1935 (Statutory Rules and Orders, No. 46 of 1935), the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) Order, 1934, was amended by restricting the meaning of the expression " pneumatic tyre " in the last-mentioned Order to outer covers only : NOW, the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sub-section
(2)of Section 6 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :—
- This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2, Eighth Period) Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
- The period beginning on the 1st day of October, 1937, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1938, is hereby appointed to be the eighth quota period under the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) Order, 1934 (which (as amended) relates to certain pneumatic tyres).
- A total amounting to fifteen thousand five hundred pneumatic tyres (being pneumatic tyres to which the said Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) Order, 1934 (as amended) relates) shall be the quota in respect of the said eighth quota period.
