HIGH COURT CIRCUITS ORDER, 1937 WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section
(1)of Section 33 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 (No. 48 of 1936), that, at or before the commencement of Part IV of that Act, the Minister for Justice shall by order, made after consultation with the President of the High Court, group the several counties and county boroughs (other than the county of Dublin and the county borough of Dublin) into such and so many High Court Circuits as he thinks proper: AND WHEREAS by virtue of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 (Part IV) (Commencement) Order, 1937, made by the Minister for Justice on the same day as, but immediately before, the Order hereinafter contained, the said Part IV of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 , will come into operation on the first day of December, 1937: AND WHEREAS the Minister for Justice, before making the Order hereinafter contained, duly consulted the President of the High Court in regard thereto : NOW, I, PATRICK J. RUTTLEDGE, Minister for Justice, in pursuance of sub-section
(1)of Section 33 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 (No. 48 of 1936), and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by that sub-section and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, and after consulting the President of the High Court as aforesaid, do hereby order as follows:—
- This Order may be cited as the High Court Circuits Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.
- The several counties and county boroughs (other than the county of Dublin and the county borough of Dublin) in Saorstát Eireann shall be, and are hereby, grouped for the purposes of Part IV of the Courts of Justice Act, 1936 No 48 of 1936), into four High Court Circuits which shall be known respectively as the Eastern Circuit, the Southern Circuit, the Western Circuit, and the Northern Circuit, and shall respectively contain the several counties and the several (if any) county boroughs stated in that behalf in the Schedule hereto. SCHEDULE.
- The Eastern Circuit shall contain:— Counties. County Borough. Carlow. Waterford. Kildare. Kilkenny. Leix Offaly. Tipperary, North Riding. Tipperary, South Riding. Waterford. Wexford. Wicklow.
- The Southern Circuit shall contain:— Counties. County Boroughs. Clare. Cork. Cork. Limerick. Limerick. Kerry.
- The Western Circuit shall contain:— Counties. Galway. Leitrim. Longford. Mayo. Roscommon. Sligo.
- The Northern Circuit shall contain:— Counties. Cavan. Donegal. Louth. Meath. Monaghan. Westmeath. Given under my Seal of Office this 30th day of November,
