AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1938. No. 64. ROAD VEHICLES (REGISTRATION AND LICENSING) REGULATIONS, 1938. DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH. WHEREAS by section 12 of the Roads Act, 1920, the Minister of Transport is empowered to make regulations generally for the purpose of carrying the said Act into effect and in particular for making any particulars contained in the register or mechanically propelled vehicles kept under the said Act available for use by the persons prescribed by the said regulations : AND WHEREAS by Article 26 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 1921, regulations have been made for the purposes aforesaid : AND WHEREAS the powers conferred on the Minister of Transport by the said section 12 are now vested in the Minister for Local Government and Public Health : AND WHEREAS it is expedient for the purposes aforesaid to make the following regulations in addition to the said Article 26 : NOW THEREFORE the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said section 12 of the Roads Act, 1920, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say :— 1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 1938. 2. These regulations and the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 1921, shall be read as one and may be collectively cited as the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 1921 and 1938. 3. A council shall supply free of charge to any person who is a registration authority for the purposes of the Road Vehicles (International Circulation) Regulations, 1934 and 1937, upon application made, the registered name and address of the owner of any vehicle registered by the said council together with a copy of the particulars registered as those which are shown upon the last licence issued in respect of that vehicle.
