AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1939. No. 353. CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 13, TWELFTH PERIOD) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1939. WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that the Government may at any time amend any quota order or other order previously made under the said Act : AND WHEREAS the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13, Twelfth Period) Order, 1939, was made on the 29th day of September, 1939, under sub-sections

(2)and
(3)of Section 6 of the said Act : NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13, Twelfth Period) (Amendment) Order, 1939. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 13, Twelfth Period) Order, 1939, is hereby amended as follows and shall be construed and have effect accordingly, that is to say :— (
  1. a)by the deletion in paragraph 3 of the words and figures " 30th day of April, 1940 " and the substitution in lieu thereof of the words and figures " 31st day of January, 1940," and (
  2. b)by the deletion in paragraph 4 of the words " Two hundred and seventy thousand square yards " and the substitution in lieu thereof of the words " Four hundred and ten thousand square yards," and (
  3. c)by the deletion in paragraph 5 of the words " two hundred and sixty-five thousand square yards " and the substitution in lieu thereof of the words " four hundred and five thousand square yards."
