AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1939. No. 375. TRADE BOARDS (HAND EMBROIDERY TRADE) SPECIAL ORDER, 1939. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection

(5)of Section 1 of the Trade Boards Act, 1918, that any Act confirming a provisional order made in pursuance of Section 1 of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, may be repealed or varied by a special order : AND WHEREAS the Trade Boards Provisional Orders Confirmation Act, 1913, confirms, amongst other provisional orders made in pursuance of Section 1 of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, the provisional order set out in Paragraph IV of the Schedule to the said Act, namely, the Trade Boards (Linen and Cotton Embroidery) Order, 1913 : NOW, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 1 of the Trade Boards Act, 1918, as adapted by or under subsequent enactments, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Trade Boards (Hand Embroidery Trade) Special Order,
  2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.
  3. The Trade Boards Provisional Orders Confirmation Act, 1913, is hereby varied by the substitution of the particulars set out in the Schedule to this Order for those set out in the Appendix to Paragraph IV of the Schedule to the said Act. SCHEDULE. The Hand Embroidery Trade, that is to say :— All processes, done by hand, of embroidery, drawn-thread work, thread drawing, thread clipping, top sewing, scalloping, nickelling and paring, on handkerchiefs, wearing apparel for women or girls or for children without distinction of sex, or articles for domestic or household use, but excluding any process included in any other trade to which the Trade Boards Acts, 1909 and 1918, for the time being apply.
