AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1940. No. 233. FIRE BRIGADES ACT, 1940 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 1) ORDER, 1940. DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH. WHEREAS by Section 19 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (in this Order referred to as " the Act ") it is enacted that the Act shall come into operation on such day or days as may be appointed therefor by any Order or Orders of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, and that different days may be so appointed in respect of different sanitary districts : NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers so conferred on him hereby orders as follows, that is to say :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (Date of Commencement) (No. 1) Order, 1940. 2. The Act shall come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1940, in respect of the following sanitary districts, that is to say :— The County Borough of Dublin. " " " Cork. " " " Limerick.
