No. 98. LOCAL OFFICES AND EMPLOYMENTS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1940. DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH. WHEREAS in pursuance of Section 15 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 , (hereinafter referred to as " the Act "), the Minister for Local Government did, by the Local Offices and Employments Order, 1924 (hereinafter referred to as " the Principal Order "), apply the provisions of the said section to the offices and employments set out in the Schedule to the said order and did make the regulations therein appearing with respect to the said offices and employments : AND WHEREAS the Principal Order was amended by the Local Offices and Employments (Amendment) Order, 1924, the Local Offices and Employments (Amendment) Order, 1929, the Local Offices and Employments (Amendment) Order, 1930, and the Local Offices and Employments (Amendment) Order, 1936 : AND WHEREAS the Minister for Local Government and Public Health deems it expedient to apply the provisions of the said Section 15 of the Act as defined and extended by the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 1935 , to the offices or employments under a local authority hereinafter mentioned and to extend the application of the Principal Order accordingly : NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 15 of the Act, as defined and extended as aforesaid, and of all other powers in this behalf enabling him does hereby order as follows, that is to say :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Local Offices and Employments (Amendment) Order, 1940. 2. The Principal Order shall extend and apply to the office or employment of nurse or of attendant in a district mental hospital or auxiliary district mental hospital in like manner as it applies to the offices or employments set out in the Schedule thereto.
