AIR NAVIGATION AND TRANSPORT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1942. ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS Section 1. The Principal Act. 2. Amendment of section 79 of the Principal Act. 3. Short title and collective citation. Act Referred to Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1936 No. 40 of 1936 Number 10 of 1942. AIR NAVIGATION AND TRANSPORT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1942. AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 79 OF THE AIR NAVIGATION AND TRANSPORT ACT, 1936 . [26th May, 1942.] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS :— The Principal Act. 1.—In this Act the expression “the Principal Act” means the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1936 (No. 40 of 1936). Amendment of section 79 of the Principal Act. 2.— Section 79 (which relates to subsidies) of the Principal Act shall be construed and have effect— (
- a)as if the following sub-section were inserted therein in lieu of sub-section
(2), that is to say :— “
(2)Every order made under this section shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas as soon as may be after it is made, and if a resolution annulling such order is passed by either such House within the next subsequent twenty-one days on which such House has sat after such order is laid before it, such order shall be annulled accordingly but without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under such order.”; and (b) as if for the reference in sub-section
(3)to five years from the date of the passing of the Principal Act there were substituted a reference to five years from the date of the passing of this Act; and (c) as if the following sub-section were inserted therein in lieu of sub-section
(4), that is to say :— “
(4)Any moneys required for the payment of the subsidy specified in an order made under this section shall be paid out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas.”. Short title and collective citation. 3.—This Act may be cited as the Air Navigation and Transport (Amendment) Act, 1942, and the Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Air Navigation and Transport Acts, 1936 and 1942.
