AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1942. No. 98. LARGE PUBLIC SERVICES VEHICLES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1942. ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1933 . The Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the power conferred on him by sub-section
(2)of section 121 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 , as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 162) Order, 1942, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say :—
- In these regulations the expression " the principal regulations " means the Large Public Service Vehicles Regulations,
- These regulations shall continue in force until the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), ceases to be in force and shall then expire.
- During the continuance of these regulations the following article shall be substituted for Article 48 of the principal regulations, that is to say :— " Additional Passengers.
- —
(1)Subject to the provisions of this article, a greater number of passengers may be carried in an omnibus than would otherwise be lawful under section 121 of the act.
(2)No additional passengers may be carried by virtue of this article in the upper deck of a double-deck omnibus.
(3)The additional passengers carried in a single-deck omnibus by virtue of this article shall not exceed in number eight or one-third of the sitting accommodation of the omnibus whichever is the less.
(4)The additional passengers carried in the lower deck of a double-deck omnibus by virtue of this article shall not exceed in number eight or one-third of the sitting accommodation of such lower deck, whichever is the less."
- These regulations may be cited as the Large Public Service Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations,
- These regulations and the principal regulations shall be construed as one and may be collectively cited as the Large Public Service Vehicles Regulations, 1935 and
- GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health this Twenty-fifth day of March, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-two.
