AmendmentsLeasuithe STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1946. No. 140. CHILDREN'S ALLOWANCES (QUALIFYING DATES) (No. 1). REGULATIONS, 1946. I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Children's Allowances Acts, 1944 and 1946, hereby make the following regulations : 1. These regulations may be cited as the Children's Allowances (Qualifying Dates) (No. 1) Regulations, 1946. 2. In these regulations, the expression " the Act of 1946 " means the Children's Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 8 of 1946). 3. The date specified in the third column of the First Schedule hereto at any reference number is hereby appointed to be the first qualifying date, for the purposes of the Act of 1946, for persons, resident in the area mentioned in the second column of that Schedule at that reference number, who at that date were not already entitled to a children's allowance. 4. The date specified in the third column of the Second Schedule hereto at any reference number is hereby appointed to be the first qualifying date, for the purposes of the Act of 1946, for persons already entitled to a children's allowance under the Act of 1944 for the payment period commencing on the date specified in the second column of that Schedule at that reference number. 5. The Children's Allowances Act, 1944 (Qualifying Dates) Regulations, 1944 ( S. R. & O. No. 81 of 1944 ), are hereby revoked. Article 3 FIRST SCHEDULE. QUALIFYING DATES : NEW CLAIMANTS.
