AmendmentsLeasuithe Statutory Order No. 411. WHEREAS by section 3 of the Local Government Act, 1946 (in this Order referred to as "the Act") it is enacted that the Act shall come into operation on such day or days as may be fixed therefor by order or orders of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (in this Order referred to as "the Minister") either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so fixed for different purposes and different provisions of the Act: NOW THEREFORE, the Minister in exercise of the powers so conferred on him, hereby orders as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1946 (Date of Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1946. 2. Sections 7 to 29 of the Act shall for all purposes come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1947. 3. Section 5 shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1947, for the purpose of effecting the repeal of the enactments which are mentioned in the Schedule to this Order.
