AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 23 of 1948. RETURNING OFFICERS' (BOROUGH AND COUNTY CONSTITUENCIES) CHARGES ORDER, 1948. The Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 25 of the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Returning Officers' (Borough and County Constituencies) Charges Order, 1948.
(2)The Returning Officers' (Borough and County Constituencies) Charges Orders, 1937 to 1947, and this Order may be cited together as the Returning Officers' (Borough and County Constituencies) Charges Orders, 1937 to
- In the application in relation to a general election of the Returning Officers' (Borough and County Constituencies) Charges Order, 1937 ( S. R. & O. No. 143 of 1937 ), that Order shall have effect subject to the following changes in the Schedule : (I) in subparagraph (a) of paragraph 1 of Part I, for " Eighth Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1923 , as amended by the Electoral (Revision of Constituencies) Act, 1935 " there shall be substituted " First Schedule to the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1947 ": (II) in subparagraph
(1)of paragraph 1 of Section A of Part II, for the portion beginning " As respects a county constituency " and ending " be deemed to be a single borough constituency " there shall be substituted : " As respects a county constituency— £ s. d. For every complete 100 of the electors for the constituency 0 4 3 As respects a borough constituency— For every complete 100 of the electors for the constituency— up to 125,000 electors 0 4 0 exceeding 125,000 electors 0 2 0 Provided that where a person is returning officer for more than one borough constituency, all the borough constituencies for which he is returning officer shall, for the purposes of the foregoing provisions of this Part of this scale, be deemed to be a single borough constituency ": (III) in subparagraph (c) of paragraph
