No. 171 of 1949. INFECTIOUS DISEASES (MAINTENANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1949. The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 44 of the Health Act, 1947 , hereby makes the following regulations :— 1.—
(1)These regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1949.
(2)In these regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 21 of 1948 ).
(3)These regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Principal Regulations and the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 313 of 1948 ), and may be collectively cited therewith as the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) Regulations, 1948 and 1949. 2. Article 2 of the Principal Regulations shall be amended by the insertion after the word " applies " in the definition of the word " person " of the words " by virtue of subsection
(1)of that section. " 3. Article 5 of the Principal Regulations, shall be amended by the substitution in sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph
(1), sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph
(2), sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph
(4), and sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph
(5)thereof of the words " a female person " for the words " someone other than a relative " wherever the same occur. 4. The Schedule of the Principal Regulations, is hereby revoked and the following schedule shall be substituted therefor :— SCHEDULE. Class of Person Rates of Payments Where person is ordinarily resident in County Borough Where person is ordinarily resident elsewhere than in Country Borough £ s. d. £ s. d. 1 For male person with dependent wife, or female person with dependent husband. 3 0 0 2 15 0 2 (
- a)For single person or a person who is a widow or widower. 1 8 0 1 5 0 (
- b)For such person where he has one or more dependants and where with the approval of the health authority, it is necessary to employ a female person to take care of such dependant or dependants. 1 0 0 0 15 0 3 For such dependant (other than a wife or husband) :— (
- a)aged 16 years and over 0 12 0 0 10 0 (
- b)aged 8 years and under 16 0 8 0 0 6 0 (
- c)aged under 8 years 0 5 0 0 3 0 4 For a married woman whose husband is unable to make proper provision for the care of their family where, with the approval of the health authority, it is necessary to employ a female person to take care of such family. 1 0 0 0 15 0 GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Health, this twenty-seventh day of May, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-nine.
