MANUSCRIPT BOOKS (REDUCTION OF CUSTOMS DUTY) ORDER, 1949. The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Serpices (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Manuscript Books (Reduction of Customs Duty) Order, 1949. 2. On and after the 1st day of April, 1949:— (
4. a)the duty of customs imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 192) Order, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 189 of 1939 ) shall be at the reduced rate of an amount equal to sixty per cent. of the value of the article in lieu of the rate mentioned in Article 3 of the Order, and (
5. b)the preferential rate of duty provided for by Article 5 of the Order shall be of an amount equal to thirty-seven and one-half per cent. of the value of the article in lieu of the rate mentioned in the said Article 5.
