AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (EGGS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1950. I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Act, 1939 (No. 2 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do by this Order make the following regulations— 1.—
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1950.
(2)The Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to 1949, and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to
- In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 169 of 1939 ).
- Article 16 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition to subparagraph (c) of paragraph
(4)of— " (
- iv)the word " sealed " in the case of eggs preserved by a process of oil-dipping." 4. Article 17 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the deletion of paragraph (3A) (inserted therein by the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1942 ( S. R. & O. No. 279 of 1942 )), and the substitution therefor of— " (3A) Corrugated flats, or the combined Filler-flat known as Keyes Tray may be used for packing eggs for the home trade but shall not be used in packing eggs for export without the sanction of the Minister, but Keyes Tray may be used in packing for export eggs preserved by a process of oil dipping." 5. Article 18 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the following respects— (
- a)by the insertion in subparagraph (
- a)of paragraph
(3), after the word " manner," of the following words—" or by the affixing of clear and legible labels " ; (b) by the addition, after paragraph
(4), of the following new paragraphs— "
(5)Packages of eggs which are consigned from registered wholesalers' premises to any place, whether inside or outside the State, and which contain eggs which have been preserved by a process of oil-dipping, shall bear, in addition to the grade mark, a mark consisting of the letters " OD " in letters not less than two inches in diameter. This mark shall be applied to each end of the package and, notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph
(4)of this Article, shall be in red.
(6)Packages of eggs of the grade " Specials " which are consigned from registered wholesalers' premises for export to Great Britain shall bear, on one side of the package, a mark consisting of the expression ' M.O.F. Chargeable 4/- '." 6. Paragraphs
(1)and
(3)of Article 25 of the Principal Regulations shall not apply in relation to eggs which are sent or consigned, during the period beginning on the 22nd day of May, 1950, and ending on the 5th day of June, 1950, to premises registered in the Register of Preservers.
- These Regulations shall come into operation on the 22nd day of May,
