I, THOMAS F. O'HIGGINS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939) as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Butter (Maximum Prices) Order, 1951.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1951. 2.
(1)Every word and expression to which a particular meaning is given by the Dairy Produce Act, 1924 (No. 58 of 1924), or the Regulations made thereunder, shall in this Order have the meaning so given to it.
(2)References in this Order to selling shall be construed as including references to agreeing or offering to sell or to inviting an offer to buy. 3. The maximum price at which creamery butter or imported creamery butter may be sold retail under any set of conditions shall be a price calculated at whichever of the following rates is appropriate, that is to say— (
- a)in the case of butter contained in official wrappers issued by the Department of Agriculture and which bear the words " unrationed butter " or " unrationed imported creamery butter " printed thereon 3/8d. per lb. (
- b)in the case of any other creamery butter or imported creamery butter 2/10d. per lb. 4. The Butter (Maximum Prices) Order, 1950 ( S.I. No. 135 of 1950 ) is hereby revoked.
