SUGAR ORDER, 1949 (FOURTH RATION PERIOD) ORDER, 1951. The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), hereby orders as follows :— 1.—

(1)This Order may be cited as the Sugar Order, 1949 (Fourth Ration Period) Order, 1951.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 24th day of February, 1951. 2. In this Order, the expression " the Principal Order " means the Sugar Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1949 ). 3. This Order shall be construed as one with the Principal Order. 4. This Order is supplemental to the Principal Order. 5. For the purposes of the Principal Order :— (
  1. a)the period (in this Order referred to as the fourth ration period) of thirty-nine weeks commencing on the 24th day of February, 1951, shall be a ration period ; (
  2. b)page 16, containing coupons marked with the letter " C " of a general ration book issued under the Emergency Powers (General Rationing Provisions) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 130 of 1944), shall be applicable to the fourth ration period. 6. For the purposes of the Principal Order, each coupon in page 16 forming part of a general ration book issued under the Emergency Powers (General Rationing Provisions) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 130 of 1944), and marked with the letter " C " and a number specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order, shall be a sugar coupon, but shall be valid only for the ration week commencing on the date set out in the second column of the said Schedule opposite the mention of such sugar coupon. SCHEDULE. RATION WEEKS DURING WHICH CERTIAN SUGAR COUPONS ARE VALID. Number marked on Sugar Coupon. Date of commencement of ration week during which coupon is valid.
