The Inland Post Amendment (No. 3) Warrant, 1951. AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 293 of 1951. DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS. THE INLAND POST AMENDMENT (No. 3) WARRANT, 1951. Dated : 4th July, 1951. The Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his signature hereto and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Post Office Acts, 1908 to 1937, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby by this Warrant orders as follows :— 1 Warrant to be read as one with the Principal Warrant. 1. This Warrant shall be read as one with the Inland Post Warrant, 1939, hereinafter called " the Principal Warrant." 2 Rates and conditions of Postage. 2. The entries numbered 3, 7 and 8 (as amended by the Inland Post Amendment (No. 2) Warrant, 1948) in the First Schedule to the Principal Warrant specifying the rates of postage, limits of size and weight and certain conditions relating to the transmission by post of printed packets and parcels, are hereby revoked and the entries in the Schedule to this Warrant are substituted therefor. 3 Short title. 3. This Warrant may be cited as " The Inland Post Amendment (No. 3) Warrant, 1951." 4 Commencement 4. This Warrant shall come into operation on the 9th day of July, 1951. SCHEDULE RATES OF POSTAGE Col. 1 Col. 2 Col. 3 Col. 4 Col. 5 Description of Postal Packet Rate of Postage Limit of Size Limit of Weight Conditions 3. Printed Packet 4 oz. (or less), 1½d. For every additional 2 oz. or part thereof, ½d. Length, 2 ft. 2 lb. A printed packet upon which no part or a part only of the postage payable thereon is prepaid shall be forwarded charged with double the amount of the deficient postage. Width or Depth, 1 ft. In roll form : Length, 2 ft. 6 ins. Diameter, 4 ins. 7. Parcel (posted in Ireland for delivery therein) Weight not exceeding 2 lb. 10d. Greatest length, 3 ft. 6 ins. 11 lb. Exceeding 2 lb. and not exceeding 5 lb. 1s. 1d. Greatest length and girth combined, 6 ft. (The girth to be measured round the thickest part). Exceeding 5 lb. and not exceeding 8 lb. 1s. 4d. Exceeding 8 lb. and not exceeding 11 lb. 1s. 6d. 8. Parcel (posted in Ireland for delivery in Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man). Weight not exceeding 2 lb. 1s. Greatest length, 3 ft. 6 ins. 11 lb. Exceeding 2 lb. and not exceeding 5 lb. 1s. 3d. Greatest length and girth combined, 6 ft. (The girth to be measured round the thickest part).
