LEVY (BUTTER STOCKS) (No. 1) ORDER, 1952. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection
(1)of section 3 of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Act, 1941 (No. 9 of 1941) that the Minister for Agriculture may, whenever and so often as he thinks fit, by order declare— (
- a)that a specified date (in the said subsection referred to as the appointed date) shall be the appointed date for the purposes of such order, and (
- b)that there shall be paid to the said Minister by every registered proprietor of a creamery a levy, at the rate specified in such order, on all creamery butter (other than creamery butter manufactured in such creamery) held by or on behalf of such proprietor anywhere on the appointed date. NOW, I, THOMAS WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Act, 1941 (No. 9 of 1941) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows, that is to say :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Levy (Butter Stocks) (No. 1) Order, 1952. 2. The 5th day of July, 1952, is hereby appointed to be the appointed date for the purposes of this Order. 3. The rate of levy on creamery butter held anywhere by or on behalf of a registered proprietor of a creamery (other than creamery butter manufactured in such creamery) on the appointed date shall be :— (
- a)on butter made up in rolls :— (
- i)where the quantity sold equals or exceeds 10 cwt., 92/6d. per cwt. ; (
- ii)where the quantity sold is less than 10 cwt., 93/-per cwt. ; (
- b)on butter not made up in rolls which is sold to the proprietor of a creamery or a butter (wholesale) dealer :— (
- i)where the quantity sold equals or exceeds 20 cwt., 90/6d. per cwt. ; (
- ii)where the quantity sold is less than 20 cwt., 9¼d per cwt. ; (
- c)on butter not made up in rolls which is sold to a purchaser other than the proprietor of a creamery or a butter (wholesale) dealer :— (
- i)where the quantity sold equals or exceeds 20 cwt. 94/4d. per cwt. ; (
- ii)where the quantity sold is less than 20 cwt., 92/4d. per cwt. GIVEN under my Official Seal this 4th day of July, 1952. (Signed) THOMAS WALSH, Minister for Agriculture.
