DUBLIN COUNTY BOROUGH (ELECTORAL AREAS) ORDER, 1953. The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 3 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1945 (No. 8 of 1945) hereby orders as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin County Borough (Electoral Areas) Order, 1953. 2. The County Borough of Dublin shall be divided into the nine electoral areas described in the Schedule to this Order. 3. The number of members of the city council to be elected for each electoral area shall be five. 4. The Dublin County Borough (Local Electoral Areas) Order, 1945 (S. R. & O. 1945, No. 57) is hereby revoked. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Local Government this fifteenth day of April, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-three. PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Local Government. SCHEDULE. ELECTORAL AREAS IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF DUBLIN. 1. Electoral Area Number One shall consist of— (
  4. a)the Beann Eadair, Clontarf East, Clontarf West, Drumcondra North and Raheny wards, (
  5. b)the townlands of Artaine (Domville), Artaine East, Artaine North, Artaine South, Artaine West, Ballyhoy, Beaumont, Bonnybrook, Brookville, Coolock, Edenmore, Glebe (in the District Electoral Division of Howth Rural), Hampstead North, Harmonstown, Kilmore Little, Mount Olive, Oldtown, Snug and Swansnest, (
  6. c)those parts of the townlands of Stormanstown and Wad which are east of the middle line of Ballymun road, and (
  7. d)that portion of the City comprising parts of the townlands of Baldoyle, Grange, Kilbarrack Upper, Kilmore Big, Santry and Tonlegee. 2. Electoral Area Number Two shall consist of the Ballybough, Drumcondra South, Mountjoy and North Dock wards. 3. Electoral Area Number Three shall consist of— (
  8. a)the Glasnevin, Inns Quay and Rotunda wards, (
  9. b)the townlands of Ballyboggan North, Ballyboggan South, Ballygall (in the District Electoral Division of Drumcondra Rural), Ballygall (in the District Electoral Division of Finglas), Claremont, Finglas East, Finglas West, Finglas Wood, Glebe (in the District Electoral Division of Finglas), Johnstown (in the District Electoral Division of Finglas), Springmount, Stang, Stockens, Tolka and Walnut Grove, (
  10. c)those parts of the townlands of Stormanstown and Wad which are west of the middle line of Ballymun Road, and (
  11. d)that portion of the City comprising parts of the townlands of Cardiffsbridge, Cardiffscastle, Clonmel, Jamestown Great, Jamestown Little and Pelletstown. 4. Electoral Area Number Four shall consist of the Arran Quay, Cabragh East, Cabragh West and Phoenix Park wards. 5. Electoral Area Number Five shall consist of— (
  12. a)the Crumlin and Kilmainham wards, (
  13. b)the townlands of Ballyfermot Lower and Jamestown, and (
  14. c)that portion of the City comprising parts of the townlands of Ballyfermot Upper, Bluebell, Drimnagh, Johnstown (in the District Electoral Division of Palmerston) and Wilkinstown. 6. Electoral Area Number Six shall consist of the Merchants' Quay, St. Kevin's. Usher's and Wood Quay wards. 7. Electoral Area Number Seven shall consist of— (
  15. a)the Kimmage, Rathfarnham, Rathmines West and Terenure wards, (
  16. b)those portions of the City comprising parts of the townland of Crumlin, and (
  17. c)that portion of the City comprising parts of the townlands of Rathfarnham and Whitehall. 8. Electoral Area Number Eight shall consist of the Pembroke East, Pembroke West and Rathmines East wards. 9. Electoral Area Number Nine shall consist of the Mansion House, North City, Royal Exchange and South Dock wards and all other portions of the City not included in the other Electoral Areas constituted by this Order.
