Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1953. AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 270 of 1953. DEPARTMENT OF LANDS HOUSING(GAELTACHT) ACTS, 1929-1953. HOUSING (GAELTACHT) (GENERAL) REGULATIONS, 1953. I, T. Ó DEIRG, Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts, 1929 to 1953, hereby make the following regulatious :— 1.—
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1953.
(2)These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 to 1949.
(3)The Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 to 1949, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 to
- The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these regulations.
- In these Regulations " the Acts " means the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts, 1929 to
- Every application for a grant under the Acts shall be made in Form 1A in the Schedule to these Regulations in lieu of the form prescribed by Article 25 of the Housing (Gaeltacht) (General) Regulations, 1931 (S. R. & O. No. 43 of 1931).
- The amount of a sanitation grant or a special extension grant shall not exceed three-fourths of the cost, as estimated by an inspector, of the work for which the grant is required. 6.—
(1)Where a grant for the provision and installation of a private water supply and sewerage facilities to a dwelling house is made, the provisions of this Article shall apply.
(2)The water supply and drainage system shall be in accordance with :— (
- a)a standard plan, or (
- b)a standard plan with deviations sanctioned in writing by an inspector, or (
- c)a plan approved in writing by an inspector.
(3)The house shall be provided with a sink and water closet.
(4)The water supply shall be at all times sufficient for flushing purposes. 7. Every extension for which a special extension grant is made shall be of such design and construction as to have a floor space measured within the containing walls :— (
- a)where the grant is the maximum which may be sanctioned under the Acts—of at least one hundred and ten square feet, (
- b)where the grant is less than the maximum—of such area as shall be approved in writing by an inspector having regard to the amount of the grant and the suitability of the accommodation being provided. 8. The Minister may require from an applicant for a sanitation grant or an improving grant a statutory declaration, under the Statutory Declarations Act, 1938 (No. 37 of 1938), as to the date on which the work was commenced. 9. An application for a grant in accordance with the Housing (Gaeltacht) (Amendment) Act, 1953 (No. 6 of 1953) need not be accompanied by a Valuation Certificate.
