EMERGENCY IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 301) (ARTIFICIAL SILK PIECE GOODS) ORDER, 1953. The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section I of the Emergency Imposition of Duties Act, 1932 (No. 16 of 1932), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows : 1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 301) (Artificial Silk Piece Goods) Order, 1953. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 3. The Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 238) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 12 of 1949 ), as amended by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 238) (Amendment) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 296 of 1949 ) and the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 281) (Artificial Silk Piece Goods) Order, 1952 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1952 ), is hereby further amended, as respects articles imported on or after the 20th day of February, 1953, as follows : (
4. a)by the deletion in Article 3 of— " and (
5. c)are of a value exceeding one shilling and six pence per square yard, but excluding goods made partly of wool and not less than seven ounces in weight per square yard " and the substitution therefor of— " but excluding— (
6. i)goods made partly of wool and not less than seven ounces in weight per square yard ; and (
7. ii)goods containing not less than forty per cent. by weight of silk of a value not exceeding one shilling and six pence per square yard ; and (iii) goods containing not less than forty per cent. by weight of artificial silk of a value not exceeding one shilling and three pence per square yard," (
8. b)by the deletion in paragraph (
