EMERGENCY IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 332) (FELT HATS AND CAPS FOR MEN OR BOYS) ORDER, 1954. The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Emergency Imposition of Duties Act, 1932 (No. 16 of 1932), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows : 1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 332) (Felt Hats and Caps for Men or Boys) Order, 1954. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 3. The Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 267) (Personal Clothing and Wearing Apparel) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 357 of 1951 ), as amended shall have effect, as respects articles imported on or after the 26th day of May, 1954, as if— (
- a)in sub paragraph (
- a)of paragraph 9 " 13 and 14 " were substituted for " and 13 ", and (
- b)the following were substituted for Part III of the Schedule : " PART III. This Part of this Schedule does not apply to any Articles chargeable under Part II of this Schedule. Ref. No. Description of articles liable to duty Rate of minimum duty 13 Hats and caps which are made wholly or mainly of felt and are suitable for wear by men or are suitable for wear by boys. 11s. 3d. per article 14 Berets and other similar articles made wholly or mainly of felt or felted material. 5s. 7½d. per article " GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government, this 19th day of May, 1954.
