INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY (AMENDMENT) RULES (NO. 7), 1954. I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Acts, 1927 to 1949, hereby make the following Rules :— 1.—

(1)These Rules may be cited as the Industrial Property (Amendment) Rules (No. 7), 1954.
(2)The Industrial Property Rules, 1927 to 1939, the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 (Amendment) Rules, 1950 ( S.I. No. 55 of 1950 ), and these Rules may be cited together as the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 to 1954. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Rules. 3.—
(1)In these Rules, " the Principal Rules " means the Industrial Property Rules, 1927 ( S. R. & O. No. 78 of 1927 ).
(2)These Rules shall be construed as one with the Principal Rules.
  1. These Rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of June,
  2. 5.—
(1)An application for a patent shall be in Form No. 1 or Form No. 2 (as may be appropriate) in the Schedule to these Rules.
(2)Rule 23 of the Principal Rules and Forms No. 1 and No. 2 in the First Schedule thereto are hereby revoked. 6. A claim to priority under section 152 of the Act in respect of a previous application in a foreign state may be made at any time within two months after the date of the application under these Rules, provided the claim is made within twelve months after the date of such previous application. 7.—
(1)An application shall be taken to have been duly made on the date thereof, even though accompanied by one copy only of the specification and drawings required by Rule 24 of the Principal Rules, if the second copy thereof is submitted within three months.
(2)This period shall not be capable of being enlarged under Rule 19 of the Principal Rules. 8.—
(1)One copy of the specification shall be signed by the applicant or his authorised agent.
