No. 215 of 1955. SOCIAL WELFARE (CONTRIBUTIONS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1955. The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 7 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), hereby makes the following regulations:— 1.—
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Contributions) (Amendment) Regulations, 1955.
(2)These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Contributions) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1953 ) may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Contributions) Regulations, 1953 and
- The Social Welfare (Contributions) Regulations, 1953 shall be amended as follows :— (a) the following sub-article shall be substituted for sub-article
(2)of article 4 :— "
(2)Save where a contribution is credited in respect of a contribution week as respects which disability benefit, unemployment benefit or maternity allowance is granted to a person in accordance with the regulations for the time being in force under subsection
(2)of section 37 or section 66 of the Act, an employment contribution credited under this article to an insured person to whom article 5 of the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 10 of 1953 ) applies shall not be reckoned— (
- a)for the purposes of article 5 of these Regulations (except in relation to Widow's (Contributory) Pension) or (
- b)in relation to any benefit other than Widow's (Contributory) Pension." ; (
- b)there shall be inserted in article 5 as sub-article
(2)thereof, the following :— "
(2)Employment contributions under paragraph 4 of the Second Schedule to the Act (inserted therein by article 5 of the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1953) paid in respect of an insured person shall not be taken into account for the purposes of this article except in relation to Widow's (Contributory) Pension.
