(7)) ORDER, 1956. I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection

(3)of section 1 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), and it having been shown to my satisfaction that the coming into operation of certain requirements of Part III of the said Act should be postponed, hereby order as follows : 1.—

(1)This Order may be cited as the Factories Act, 1955 (Commencement of Sections 22

(2)and 33

(4)and

(7)) Order, 1956.

(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October,

2. In this Order " the Act " means the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955).
3. The date of coming into operation of subsection

(2)of section 22 of the act is hereby postponed, as respects factories in which the main transmission machinery is driven wholly or partly by water power, until the 1st day of October, 1957. 4. The date of coming into operation of subsections

(4)and

(7)of section 33 of the act is hereby postponed, as respects hoists and lifts constructed or reconstructed before the passing of the Act, until the 1st day of October,
