AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION COUNCIL ORDER, 1956. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection
(1)of section 11 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), that the Minister for Agriculture whenever and so often as he thinks fit may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance and after consultation with such bodies and persons as he shall consider most representative of the several interests concerned, establish by order a consultative council for giving advice and assistance to him in relation to such matters (being matters relating to or concerned with the public services for the time being comprised in the Department of Agriculture other than matters which by virtue of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before or after the said Agriculture Act, 1931 , are the concern of a consultative council established under such Act of the Oireachtas) as he shall specify in such order or in any subsequent order ; NOW, I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection
(1)of section 11 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), do hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance and after such consultation as is mentioned in the said subsection
(1), order as follows :
- This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Production Council Order,
- The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.
- A consultative council to be called and known as the Agricultural Production Council is hereby established for giving advice and assistance to the Minister for Agriculture in relation to the following matters (being matters relating to or concerned with the public services now comprised in the Department of Agriculture other than matters which by virtue of an Act of the Oireachtas passed before or after the Agriculture Act, 1931 , are the concern of a consultative council established under such Act of the Oireachtas), that is to say, matters affecting agricultural production generally. GIVEN under my Official Seal this 18th day of October,
