subsection

(1)of section 5 of the Air-raid Precautions (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 28 of 1946), hereby make the following Scheme :
  1. This Scheme may be cited as the Air-raid Precautions Services (Compensation for Personal Injuries) Scheme, 1942 (Third Amendment) Scheme,
  3. In this Scheme— " the Principal Scheme " means the Air-raid Precautions Services (Compensation for Personal Injuries) Scheme, 1942 ( S. R. & O. No. 319 of 1942 ) ; " the Scheme of 1943 " means the Air-raid Precautions Services (Compensation for Personal Injuries) Scheme, 1942 (First Amendment) Scheme, 1943 ( S. R. & O. No. 415 of 1943 ) ; " the Scheme of 1949 " means the Air-raid Precautions Services (Compensation for Personal Injuries) Scheme, 1942 (Second Amendment) Scheme, 1949 ( S.I. No. 43 of 1949 ).
  4. Article 9 of the Principal Scheme,

Article 6of the Scheme of 1943 and Article 2 of the Scheme of 1949, shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1956, be construed as if, in paragraphs

(1)and
(2), " ninety shillings " were substituted for " fifty shillings." 4. Article 19 of the Principal Scheme shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1956, be construed as if, in paragraph (b), paragraph (
  1. c)and subparagraph (
  2. ii)of paragraph (c), " one hundred and forty-five shillings " were substituted for " seventy-two shillings and sixpence." 5. Article 23 of the Principal Scheme,

Article 10of the Scheme of 1943, shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1956, be construed as if— (a) in subparagraph (a) of paragraph

(1), subparagraph (i) of paragraph
(3)and subparagraph (i) of paragraph
(5), " eight shillings " were substituted for " five shillings ", (b) in subparagraph (a) of paragraph
(1)and paragraph
(2), " thirty-five shillings " were substituted for " eighteen shillings ", (c) in subparagraph (b) of paragraph
(1), " twenty-five shillings" were substituted for " twelve shillings and sixpence " and (d) in subparagraph (ii) of paragraph
(3), paragraph
(4), subparagraph (ii) of paragraph
(5)and paragraph
(6), " twelve shillings and sixpence " were substituted for " seven shillings and sixpence ". 6. Article 24 of the Principal Scheme,

Article 11of the Scheme of 1943, shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1956, have effect as if, in paragraph

(1), " nine hundred pounds " were substituted for " six hundred pounds ". 7. Article 25 of the Principal Scheme,

Article 12of the Scheme of 1943, shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1956, be construed as if, in paragraph

(2), " fifty pounds " were substituted for " twenty-five pounds ".
  1. Article 10 of the Principal Scheme is hereby revoked with effect as on and from the 1st day of August,
