POUNDS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1959 I, OSCAR TRAYNOR, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Pounds (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935 (No. 17 of 1935), hereby make the following regulations :— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pounds (Amendment) Regulations, 1959. 2. These Regulations and the Pounds Regulations, 1938 ( S. R. & O. No. 149 of 1938 ), may be cited together as the Pounds Regulations, 1938 and 1959. 3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. 4. The Pounds Regulations, 1938 ( S. R. & O. No. 149 of 1938 ), shall have effect, as respects chattels and animals impounded on or after the 1st day of April, 1959, as if the following Table were substituted for the Table in the Second Schedule : POUND-KEEPERS' FEES COVERING IMPOUNDING AND CARE OF CHATTELS AND IMPOUNDING, CARE AND SUSTENANCE OF AND ATTENDANCE ON ANIMALS For every For each period of 24 hours or part of such period s. 3 Brood mare, stallion, hunter, polo pony 15 0 Horse, mare, pony, mule, jennet 6 0 Foal under twelve months old 3 0 Cow, heifer, bull, bullock 4 6 Calf under twelve months old 4 0 Sheep, lamb, goat, donkey, turkey 2 0 Pig 2 6 Greyhound 3 0 Ordinary domestic fowl 0 9 Dog other than greyhound 1 0 Mechanically propelled vehicle not exceeding one ton in weight 2 6 Mechanically propelled vehicle exceeding one ton in weight 3 0 Article comprising a levy or first of a number of articles in a levy exceeding one cwt. estimated weight 1 0 For every For each period of 24 hours or part of such period s. d. EXPLANATORY NOTE The effect of this Order is to increase, with effect as on and from the 1st April, 1959, the pound-keepers' fees prescribed in the Pounds Regulations, 1938.
