AmendmentsLeasuithe I, OSCAR TRAYNOR, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and Section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance and after due compliance with subsection

(2)of the said section 12, hereby order as follows :—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Pay Order,
  3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.
  4. Subject to the provisions (other than Article 4) of the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1958 ), the pay of Women Sergeants and Women Guards shall be in accordance with the following scales : Women Sergeants : £ s. d. On appointment 8 17 6 per week After one year from appointment 9 1 6 " " " two years " " 9 5 6 " " " three years " " 9 9 6 " " " four years" " 9 13 6 " " " five years" " 9 17 6 " " Women Guards : An appointment and during period of training 5 7 6 " " On completion of period of training 6 7 6 " " After one year from appointment 6 10 2 " " " two years" " 6 12 10 " " " three" " " 6 15 6 " " " four " " " 6 18 2 " " " five " " " 7 0 10 " " " six " " " 7 3 6 " " " seven " " " 7 6 2 " " " eight" " " 7 8 10 " " " nine " " " 7 11 6 " " " ten " " " 7 14 2 " " " eleven " " " 7 16 10 " " " twelve " " " 7 19 6 " " " thirteen " " " 8 2 2 " " " fourteen" " " 8 4 10 " " " fifteen " " " 8 7 6 " " Provided that the rates of pay applicable to Women Sergeants and Women Guards who have not reached the age of twenty-one years shall be the appropriate rate set out in this Article less two shillings and sixpence per week.
  5. Article 4 of the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1958, shall not apply to Women Sergeants or Women Guards, and Article 12 of that Order shall, in its application to Women Sergeants and Women Guards, have effect as if the reference therein to that Order were a reference to this Order.
