HEALTH AUTHORITIES ACT, 1960 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1960. The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 30 of the Health Authorities Act, 1960 (No. 9 of 1960) (hereinafter called "the Act"), hereby orders as follows :— 1. This order may be cited as the Health Authorities Act, 1960 (Commencement) Order, 1960. 2. Subsection
(13)of section 24 of the Act shall for all purposes come into operation on 27th day of June,
- Sections 1 to 18 inclusive, sections 20 to 23 inclusive, subsections
(1)to
(12)inclusive and subsection
(14)of section 24 and sections 26 to 31 inclusive of the Act and the schedules to the Act shall for all purposes come into operation on 1st day of July, 1960. 4. Section 19 of the Act shall, with respect to— (
- a)the Dublin Health Authority and their functional area, and (
- b)the Cork Health Authority and their functional area but not otherwise, come into operation on 1st day of July, 1960. This Order brings into operation provisions of the Health Authorities Act, 1960 , under which special health authorities will be established for the Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford areas and the operation of the mental health service will become the responsibility of health authorities.
