INLAND POST AMENDMENT (No. 10) WARRANT, 1960. I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, on the representation of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as testified by his official seal affixed hereto, and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2, 12 and 82 of the Post Office Act, 1908, hereby order as follows : 1.—

(1)This Warrant may be cited as the Inland Post Amendment (No. 10) Warrant, 1960.
(2)This Warrant shall come into operation on the twenty-eighth day of March, 1960. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Warrant. 3. In this Warrant " the Principal Warrant " means the Inland Post Warrant, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 202 of 1939 ). 4. This Warrant shall be construed as one with the Principal Warrant. 5. The First Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by— (
  1. a)the substitution for the entries numbered 1 and 7 therein of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant, and (
  2. b)the deletion of the entry numbered 8 therein. 6. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entry numbered 2 therein of the entry in the Second Schedule to this Warrant. FIRST SCHEDULE. Col. 1 Col. 2 Col. 3 Col. 4 Col. 5 Description of Postal Packet Rate of Postage Limit of Size Limit of Weight Conditions 1. Letter 1 oz. (or less) 3d Maximum dimensions: length, 2 ft., width, 1 ft. 6 ins., depth, — A letter upon which no part, or a part only, of the postage payable thereon is prepaid shall be forwarded charged with double the amount of the deficient posatage. Exceeding 1 oz. and not exceeding 2 oz. 4d. In roll form, length and twice diameter, 3 ft. 3 ins., greatest dimension, 2 ft. 8 ins. For every additional 2 oz. or part thereof 1.d Minimum dimensions: Length, 4 ins., width, 2 ¾ ins. In roll form, length and twice diameter, 6¾ ins., greatest dimension, not less than 4 ins. The minimum dimension do not apply in relation to letters which bear a rectangular address label of cardboard or strong paper of which the two adjacent sides measure together not less than 6¼ ins. and the smaller side is not less than 1½ ins. 7. Parcel Weight not exceeding 2 lb. 1s. 3d. Maximum dimension: Greatest length, 3 ft. 6 ins. 15lb. — Exceeding 2 lb. and not exceeding 5 lb. 1s. 9d. Greatest length, and girth combined, 6 ft. (The girth to be measured round the thickestpart). Exceeding 5lb. and not excedding 8lb. 2s. 2d. Minumum dimensions : As for letters. Exceeding 8lb. and not exceeding 11lb. 2s. 7d. Exceeding 11lb. and not exceeding 15lb. 3s. 0d. SECOND SCHEDULE. Col. 1 Col. 2 Col. 3 Service Charge Provisions 2. Certificate of Posting (issued at request of the sender of an unregistered postal packet other than a parcel). 1d. The service is subject to such rules as may be prescribed. MICHAEL HILLIARD EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Warrant comes into operation on the 28th March, 1960. It provides for the following changes in postal charges :— 1.
