No. 51 of 1960. TELEGRAPH (INLAND WRITTEN TELEGRAM) AMENDMENT (No. 7) WARRANT, 1960. I, MICHAEL HILLIARD, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Telegraph Act, 1885, and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the regulations contained in the following Warrant : 1.—

(1)This Warrant may be cited as the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 7) Warrant, 1960.
(2)This Warrant shall come into operation on the 28th day of March,
  2. In Regulation 6 of the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 1) Warrant, 1928 ( S. R. & O. No. 45 of 1928 ), for " 4s. 2d." and " 7s. 11d." (both inserted by Regulation 11 of the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 6) Warrant, 1955 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1955 )) there shall be substituted respectively " 5s. 6d." and " 9s. 3d."
  3. In paragraph
(2)of Regulation 32 of the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Regulations, 1920, for the reference to 2s. 6d. (specified by Regulation 13 of the Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 6) Warrant, 1955 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1955 )) there shall be substituted a reference to 3s. 4. The Telegraph (Inland Written Telegram) Amendment (No. 6) Warrant, 1955 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1955 ), is hereby amended as follows : (i) in paragraph (a) of Regulation 4 for " 2s. 6d." there shall be substituted " 3s. 0d." ; (ii) in paragraph (b) of Regulation 4 for " 2s. 6d." and " 2d." there shall be substituted respectively " 3s. 0d." and " 3d." ; (iii) in subparagraph (a) of Paragraph
(1)of Regulation 7 for " 2s. 6d." there shall be substituted " 3s. 0d." ; (
  1. iv)in paragraph (
  2. a)of Regulation 10 for " 10s. 0d." there shall be substituted " 12s. 0d." ; (
  3. v)in Regulation 16 for " 2s. 6d.", in both places where that amount is mentioned, there shall be substituted " 3s. 0d.". GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 14th day of March, 1960. The effect of the Warrant is to bring into operation from 28th March, 1960, the following increases in charges for telegrams exchanged between places within the State : Existing charge Increased charge Ordinary { minimum (for 12 words) 2s. 6d. 3s. 0d. per extra word 2d. 3d. Press { (per page of 60 words or part thereof 2s. 6d. 3s. 0d. (Paragraph 2 merely brings into line with the new rates the charges which are quoted by way of example in a previous Warrant).
