The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 16 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), hereby order as follows : 1.—
(1)This Order may be cited as the Circuit Court (New Circuits) Order, 1960.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 11th day of April, 1960. 2.—
(1)The several counties and county boroughs in the State are hereby divided for the purposes of the Circuit Court into the groups specified in column
(2)of the Schedule to this Order at reference numbers 1 to 8.
(2)A circuit specified at reference number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 in that Schedule shall be known by the name specified in column
(3)of that Schedule at that reference number. 3.—
(1)The judges of the Circuit Court whose names are specified in column
(4)of the Schedule to this Order at reference number 1 are hereby permanently assigned to the Dublin Circuit.
(2)A judge of the Circuit Court whose name is so specified at reference number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 is hereby permanently assigned to the circuit specified at that reference number. 4. Business transacted in the Circuit Court which was initiated before the commencement of this Order and was not completed before such commencement shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in operation when such business was initiated.
