EMERGENCY POWERS (COMPENSATION FOR PERSONAL INJURIES) (LOCAL DEFENCE FORCE) SCHEME, 1942 (THIRD AMENDMENT) SCHEME, 1961. I, CAOIMHGHÍN O BEOLÁIN, Minister for Defence, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (No. 19 of 1946), as amended by section 3 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 15 of 1949), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance make the following Scheme: 1. This Scheme may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (Third Amendment) Scheme, 1961. 2. This Scheme shall have and be deemed to have had effect as on and from the 1st day of August, 1959. 3. In this Scheme "the Principal Scheme" means the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (S. R. & O.,No. 451 of 1942). 4. Article 8 of the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by the substitution in paragraphs

(1)and
(2)of "ninety shillings" for "fifty shillings" (inserted by the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (Second Amendment) Scheme, 1949 ( S.I. No. 272 of 1949 ) ).
  1. Article 9 of the Principal Scheme is hereby revoked.
  2. Article 18 of the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by the substitution of "one hundred and forty-five shillings" for "seventy-two shillings and sixpence" in paragraph (b) and in both places where it occurs in paragraph (c).
  3. Article 22 of the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by— (a) the substitution of "eight shillings" for "five shillings" and "thirty-five shillings" for "eighteen shillings" in subparagraph (a) of paragraph
(1), (
  1. b)the substitution of "twenty-five shillings" for "twelve shillings and sixpence" in subparagraph (
  2. b)of paragraph
(1), (
  1. c)the substitution of "eight shillings" for "five shillings" in subparagraph (
  2. i)of paragraph
(2)and of "twelve shillings and sixpence" for "seven shillings and sixpence" in subparagraph (
  1. ii)of that paragraph,~ (
  2. d)the substitution of " twelve shillings and sixpence " for " seven shillings and sixpence " in paragraph
(3), and (
  1. e)the substitution of " eight shillings " for " five shillings " in subparagraph (
  2. i)of paragraph
(4)and of " twelve shillings and sixpence " for " seven shillings and sixpence " in subparagraph (ii) of that paragraph. 8. Article 23 of the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by the substitution of " nine hundred pounds " for "six hundred pounds" in paragraph
(1). 9. Article 24 of the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by the substitution of " fifty pounds " for " twenty-five pounds " in paragraph
(2)(inserted by the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (First Amendment) Scheme, 1943 (S.R. & O., No. 433 of 1943) ). GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 18th day of August,
