No. 182 of 1963. IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 136) (DRINKING GLASSES) ORDER, 1963. The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 136) (Drinking Glasses) Order, 1963. 2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1963. 3. The duty of customs imposed by paragraph 5 of and mentioned at tariff heading No. 70.13 (A) in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1962 ), is hereby varied by— (
  4. a)the substitution for the matter in the first column of that Schedule at that tariff heading number of the following: "Drinking glasses:

(1)Of crystal glass
(2)Other", (
  1. b)the deletion of the matter in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at that tariff heading number, (
  2. c)the insertion in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at tariff heading No. 70.13 (A)
(1)(inserted by this Order) of "(a)", "50% " 50% or or 1s. each*", 1s. each*", and "33% or 8d. each*", respectively, and (d) the insertion in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at tariff heading No. 70.13 (A)
(2)(inserted by this Order) of "(a)", "50% " 50% or or 7½d. each*", 7½d. each*", and "33% or 5d. each*", respectively. 4. The Imposition of Duties (No. 131) (Reduction of Rates of Customs Duties) Order, 1962 ( S.I. No. 214 of 1962 ), shall apply and have effect in relation to goods to which this Order applies, as if this Order had come into operation immediately before the 1st day of January, 1963, save in so far as this Order applies to goods mentioned at tariff heading No. 70.13 (A)
(2)(inserted by this Order) in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962, and which may be liable to the alternative rates of duty of 7½d., 7½d. and 5d. mentioned at that tariff heading number.
