I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 30 of the Exchange Control Act, 1954 (No. 30 of 1954), as continued by the Exchange Control (Continuance) Act, 1962 (No. 38 of 1962), hereby make the following regulations : 1.—

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Exchange Control Regulations, 1964.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 9th day of March, 1964.
(3)The Exchange Control Regulations, 1959 to 1962, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Exchange Control Regulations, 1959 to
  1. The following is hereby substituted for the Second Schedule to the Exchange Control Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 44 of 1959 ), as amended by subsequent Orders : " SECOND SCHEDULE Territories included (in addition to the State, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) in the Scheduled Territories. British Colonial possessions and trusteeship territories. British protectorates and protected states. Australia and its dependent, including trusteeship, territories. New Zealand and its dependent, including trusteeship, territories. The Republic of South Africa and the territory of South West Africa. India. Pakistan. Ceylon. Burma. Jordan. Libya. Iceland. Ghana. Malaysia. Cyprus. Nigeria. Kuwait. Sierra Leone. Tanganyika. Uganda. Western Samoa. Jamaica. Trinidad and Tobago. Kenya. Zanzibar." GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 3rd day of March,

These Regulations consolidate amendments made in earlier Regulations to the list of Scheduled Territories for the purpose of the Exchange Control Acts, 1954 to 1962, and provide for revision of the list to take account of changes in status of certain states. The area covered by the title " Scheduled Territories " has not been altered.
