ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1932, REGULATIONS, 1964. I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 of the Road Transport Act, 1932 (No. 2 of 1932), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follow:— 1.—

(1). These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1964.
(2)These Regulations and the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1932 to 1962, may be cited together as the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1932 to
  1. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Regulations.
  2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1951" means the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1951 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1951 ).
  3. Every passenger fare, as calculated under the Regulations of 1951, may, so far as calculated under Scale B of the Schedule thereto, be increased by sixty-five per cent.
  4. The Regulations of 1951 are hereby amended by the substitution for paragraph
(5)(inserted by the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 203 of 1962 ) of the following paragraph:— "
(5)Subparagraphs (
  1. b)and (
  2. c)of paragraph
(4)of this Regulation shall not apply in relation to the calculation of a fare either wholly or partly under Scale B."
  1. Regulation 3 of the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 118 of 1956 ), shall not apply to the calculation of the fares referred to in Regulation 4 of these Regulations in so far as those fares are calculated under the Scale referred to in the said Regulation 4 and these Regulations shall have effect as if the said Regulation 3 had not been made.
  2. Paragraphs 4, 5 and 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1932 Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 203 of 1962 ), are hereby revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 13th day of March,

The effect of these Regulations is to permit an increase of a maximum of 10% in fares chargeable on provincial omnibus services other than those provided by Córas Iompair Éireann.
