INSURANCE (INTERMITTENT UNEMPLOYMENT) ACT, 1942 (AMENDMENT OF RATES OF SUPPLEMENTARY BENEFIT) REGULATIONS, 1966. I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of Section 46 of the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), and the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 18 of 1947 ), and with the concurrence of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations : 1.—
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Supplementary Benefit) Regulations, 1966.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of August, 1966. 2. The Third Schedule to the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), as amended by the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Weekly Contributions and Supplementary Benefit) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 128 of 1963 ), is hereby amended— (
- a)by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 3s. 8d. for the rate of 3s. 4d., and (
- b)by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 3s. 1d. for the rate of 2s. 10d., and (
- c)by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 1s. 2d. for the rate of 1s. 0d. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 4th day of August, 1966. CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN. The Minister for Finance hereby consents to the foregoing regulations. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Finance, this 4th day of August, 1966. SEÁN Ó LOINSIGH. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The effect of the Regulations is to increase the hourly rates of "Wet-Time" benefit payable under the Acts. The hourly benefit rates are fixed by the Regulations as from 15th August, 1966, as follows:— Skilled Worker 3s. 8d. Unskilled Worker 3s. 1d. Young Person 1s. 2d.
